On this occasion, a language new to the English lawyer and thence to the English politician - the language of correctness and sincerity /plain dealing/, may already have been remarked. No fiction, no cant, {no hypocrisy} no such perpetual topics of self-contradiction, as the use of such cant /that in which/ condemns a man to cloath himself, to envelope his discourse: No excellence ascribed, when the unchangeable nature of man necessitates the reverse: no profession of confidence presuming measures of distrust.
