1. Leviticus XX. 10.

And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth

adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be

put to death.

2. Deuteronomy XXII. 22. If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband,

then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with

the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

3. Deuteronomy XXIV. 1. 2. 3. 4. When a man hath taken a wife and married her, and it

come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some

uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

2. And when she is departed out of his house she may go and be another man’s wife.

3. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement and giveth

it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house, or if the

latter husband die, which took her to be his wife,

4. Her former husband which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife,

after she is defiled; for that is abomination before the Lord: and thou shat not

cause the land to sin, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for

an inheritance.

4. Deuteronomy XVII. 2 to 7. If there be found among you, within any of thy gates

which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the

sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenants,

3. And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the Sun, or moon,

or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4. And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and,

behold it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

5. Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that

wicked thing, unto thy gate, even that man or that woman, and shall stone them with

stones, till they die.

6. At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of

death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7. The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and

afterwards the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among

you.
