With an answer to some such effect, he would have to satisfy himself as well as he

could: and this is what he would have to bring to those who sent him. The vessel that

brought him would be as fit for that purpose as it could be made: but as to war and

backing the proposal with a fleet and army I should expect that for any such hope any

such expence would now be haazarded.
