Propose any thing which being at the same time that it is adverse to his particular interest is with reference to the general interest good, propose to him this good thing and if he be out of hope of persuading any body by any other means to look upon it as bad, he [...?] invitation[?] to you that for the very reason that it is so good it is execrably bad.
