Rom. XVI. 1. 2. I commend unto you Phœbe our sister, which is a servant of y e Church which is at Cenchrea.
2. That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many and of myself also
I Cor. XVI. 15. 16. 17 18. 15. I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of y e saints,)
16. That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.
17. I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.
18. For they have refreshed my spirit & yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.
Phil. II. 25 to 30. 25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger and he that ministered to my wants -
26. For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
27. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him: and not on him only, but on me also, lest I sh d have sorrow upon sorrow.
28. I sent him therefore y e more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful -
29. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
30. Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
