Emancipation Spanish

Summary

Mode of riddance

Now as to provinces not thus favourably situated. Now as to such

provinces as are not by situation susceptible of such an /any such/ arrangement. The

service which your rulers /if they would be your rulers/ neither could nor would

/could not do/ render /do/ to them as masters, they might /judge whether they might

not/ render to them as friends.

Though it would be by your rulers that of course it would be done, I

shall for shortness speak of the operation as being yours. In this case the more

compleatly and manifestly all influence of will on will were renounced, the more

efficient the force with which the influence of understanding on understanding would

operate /is strengthened/ in their minds. Having no interest opposite /at variance/

with theirs, having manifestly professing to take /have/ for your sole object the

furtherance /promotion/ of their interest in every shape, prepossession the most

favourable would operate in favour what by themselves or Agents they recommend

/support of whatever arrangements came thus recommended

Your Constitution - with or without the single exception of the Monarchical part of

it you would find there such at least as have not given to themselves a Constitution

which they prefer, you will find them predisposed to the acceptance of. In Naples

even without this exception, the same circumstances whih in your instance

necessitated the retention of the Monarchy, necessitating the same arrangement there

/operating with the alike irresistble necessity/ In Naples and after so many years of

time for examination your constitution was adapted by these strangers: with how much

greater facility would it not make its way to acceptance by your kinsmen, causing as

by the supposition it would do from the hands of benefactors: benefactors by whom

they had been benefited, as by human hands man was never before benefited? by human

hands.
